A new wristband has been launched to help Fiji's athletes at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Teivovo Rugby has teamed up with the the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) to introduce the bands which can be bought for FJD2 (£0.75/$0.96/€0.87).

Half of the proceeds will be shared equally between the Fiji rugby sevens teams and the rest of the Pacific nation's athletes who are bound for Rio.

"The Rio Olympic Games is less than 30 days away and counting," said Teivovo Rugby's Culden Kamea.

"Our entire Fiji Team to the Rio Olympics is up against teams with millions of dollars in funding and the most advanced technical resources behind them.

"It's a David versus Goliath battle of biblical proportions to win a medal."

Fiji are due to send their biggest-ever Olympic team to Rio.

The introduction of rugby sevens to the programme has given the country hope of winning a first medal, with Fiji currently back-to-back men's World Rugby Sevens Series champions.

The nation will also send a men's football team to Rio after an ineligible player row at the 2015 Pacific Games saw New Zealand lose their place.
