Brazil will meet United States in the final of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Grand Prix in a repeat of the women's Olympic gold medal match from London 2012.

Both countries came through their semi-finals in straight sets today in Bangkok to set-up the mouth-watering finale tomorrow.

The Brazilians, who beat the US to the gold medal in London, saw off The Netherlands 25-18, 25-16, 25-23 to progress at Indoor Stadium Huamark in the Thai capital.

Natalia Pereira top scored with 13 points, with both captain Fabiana Claudino and Fernanda Rodrigues adding 11 points apiece in the victory.

It means that Brazil are warming up nicely for their home Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next month, where they will be among the big home hopes for gold in a volleyball-mad nation.

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Lages Guimaraes said: “I’m very proud of my team.
