A competition to find a logo for the 2019 Island Games in Gibraltar has been launched.

The event will be the largest ever staged in the British Overseas Territory.

It is expected to attract 3,000 athletes from 24 countries and territories competing in 14 sports.

Linda Alvarez, President of the Gibraltar Island Games Association, has encouraged local artists to enter the logo competition.

The winning entry will be used in all promotional material for the event, which Gibraltar was awarded last October.

Any colour palette can be used but the logo must contain the words "GIBRALTAR 2019 ISLAND GAMES XVIII".

The prize for the winning entry is £250 ($350/€320) and includes two VIP tickets to the Games' Opening Ceremony.

The closing date for entries is on March 1.
