An American wheelchair basketball player has been banned for two years after failing to provide a sample for anti-doping testers.

Dylan Fischbach, who played for the United States under-23 team in 2013, failed to provide a sample as requested by an doping control officer during an out-of-competition test in the summer.

Fischbach accepted a 24-month period of ineligibility, which began on October 27, 2015, the day he accepted a provisional sanction, the United States Anti-Doping Agency said.

As a result of the sanction, Fischbach is also disqualified from all competitive results obtained on and subsequent to August 22, 2015, the date upon which he failed to submit to sample collection, including forfeiture of any medals, points, and prizes.

Fischbach, 20, was formerly a point guard for the Nebraska Red Dawgs, the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior Division Varsity Level 2012 and 2011 national champions.

He later studied at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
