The Lesotho National Olympic Committee has launched the 32nd edition of ANOCA's "seminar of secretaries general" ©LNOC

The Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) has launched the 32nd edition of the African National Olympic Committee Association’s (ANOCA) "seminar of secretaries general" at the AVANI Lesotho Hotel and Casino.

The country’s Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation Mathibeli Mokhothu officially declared the seminar open, after which gifts were handed over to Matlohang Ramoqopo-Moiloa, President of LNOC.

Ramoqopo Moiloa began the programme, which is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday (October 7), by saying the organisation was proud and privileged to host the seminar for the first time.

She also confirmed the LNOC is making a tentative bid to host a future edition of the ANOCA General Assembly in Lesotho.

Ramoqopo Moiloa was followed in giving a speech by ANOCA President  Lassana Palenfo, who congratulated her on being the first female to head a National Olympic Committee (NOC) in Africa after meeting with Mokhothu at his offices.

During the seminar, participants received lessons on Microsoft Office 365 and 2013, Transition Training Africa and Olympic Agenda 2020, the International Olympic Committee’s strategic roadmap for the future of the Olympic Movement. 

A total of 50 African countries were represented at the event, as well as America through sponsorship from Dragomir Cioroslan, the United States Olympic Committee’s director of international strategies and development

The Olympic Solidarity Commission, which aims to organise assistance for all NOCs, was also represented.
