Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been re-appointed chairman of the European Club Association (ECA) at their 15th General Assembly in Geneva.

The former Bayern Munich and West Germany striker will serve another two-year term at the head of the organisation which looks out for the interests of football clubs within UEFA.

Rummenigge, who represents Bayern Munich at the ECA, said: "I am delighted to be elected for another two-year term and re-appointed as chairman.

"ECA’s achievements since its inception in 2008 are remarkable and make all of us very proud.

"We are a well-respected association and are taken seriously at all levels."

Meanwhile, Italy's Umberto Gandini, representing AC Milan, Spain's Pedro López Jiménez, representing Real Madrid and Russia's Evgeni Giner, representing CSKA Moscow, have been elected in the three vice-chairman roles, while 11 more members from across Europe will complete a new Executive Board.

"With the support of all member clubs, the newly elected Executive Board will face the upcoming challenges with a lot of commitment to ensure that the clubs’ voice continues to be heard," added Rummenigge.

Meanwhile, Rummenigge and Juventus' Andrea Agnelli will join the UEFA Executive Committee on behalf of the ECA following a relaxing of rules which prevented stakeholder representation.

Twenty new clubs have also joined the ECA, bringing the total membership up to 220.
