Naser Al-Tamimi and Jean-Luc Rouge are set to be re-elected in their respective roles as the treasurer and general secretary of the International Judo Federation (IJF), with both men running unopposed at the world governing body's Congress here tomorrow.

The United Arab Emirates’ Al-Tamimi, was re-elected as treasurer at the 2007 IJF Congress in Rio de Janeiro following the withdrawal of the previous post-holder Edgar Claure of Bolivia.

Al-Tamimi was then re-elected at the 2011 IJF Congress in Paris and is now set to take up his third four-year term in the role.

Rouge, meanwhile, is set to start his second term at the general secretary having replaced Hedi Dhouib back in 2011, with the Tunisian having served in the role for 18-years.

The Frenchman combines his role as the general secretary with his Presidency of the French Judo Federation, a position he has held since 2005.

The 66-year-old, France’s first world judo champion when he won gold in the under 93 kilograms event at the 1975 World Championships in Vienna, was also inducted into the Judo Hall of Fame in 2013.

Rouge is set to be joined in the Hall of Fame by 10 more inductees, who are due to be revealed during the IJF Hall of Fame Gala, which will take place here on Saturday (August 22).

The competition draw for the individual events at the Championships is then set to take place on Sunday (August 23), with judokas getting their campaigns underway the following day.
