Denver Sports will work with local community organizations and schools to host three events which promote the USOC's Finding Leaders Among Minorities Everywhere programme and Olympic Day.

As a partner Denver Sports will be given permission to use the official USOC logo in marketing initiatives.

"This is a tremendous honour for Denver and we are very proud to be a partner in helping the many programmes of the USOC," said Matthew Payne, executive director of Denver Sports, following the announcement of the extended agreement.

Denver Sports, who as an official affiliate of Visit Denver, attempt to promote the city as a potential venue to event organisers and Payne believes that the renewed agreement highlights Denver as a major sports destination.

"Continuing to host world-class events like the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships, the 2014 BMW Championships and the US Pro Challenge bring economic development and major media attention.

"And, they are a lot of fun for residents to attend."
