Reichelt has featured on every downhill men's podium since the Alpine Ski World Championships held in Vail and Beaver Creek last month.

The Austrian posted a time of 1min 29.65sec to finish ahead of Canada's Manuel Osborne-Paradis, who finished 0.30sec further back in second, while Italy's Werner Heel earned bronze.

"I'm not a machine, it's just running really good at the moment, like Kjetil [Jansrud] had it at the beginning of the season," Reichelt said.

Jansrud duly remains the leader in the overall downhill standings with 505 points, while Reichelt now sits 20 points behind the Norwegian on 485, with the final event in Meribel in France on March 18.

In Germany meanwhile, Tina Weirather secured her first World Cup win of the season with a downhill time of 1min 40.94sec.

"I always look forward to coming to Garmisch-Partenkirchen," Weirahter said.

"I like the hill and I have been successful here already."

Austria's Anna Fenninger continued her recent streak of podium finishes following on from her double gold at the World Championships, finishing second in 1.41.45, while her rival in the overall standings Tina Maze of Slovenia was third in 1:41.85.

Maze leads the women's overall standings with 1205 points, while Fenninger now closed to within 24 points, ahead of tomorrow's Super-G event.
