The South Korean Organising Committee stage a special "One Day in Pyeongchang" event, which some 500 participants attended, including representatives of the Government, sports industry officials and local residents, at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre and site for the Olympic Stadium.

Olympic figure skating gold medallist and Games Ambassador Kim Yuna was also in attendance, while speed skating legend Lee Kyou-Hyuk was formally appointment as a Games Ambassador after he was named for the position last week.

The celebrations gave people the chance to experience what it might be like at the Olympic Opening Ceremony, with a three-kilometre "One Heart Torch Relay" from the Ski Jumping Centre to the Olympic Stadium site, which saw officials from Pyeongchang 2018, central Government and Gangwon Province each jogging 300 metres.

A time capsule sealing also took place at the Olympic Stadium site.

"Today, all related stakeholders preparing for the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games were able to feel the climate and be immersed in the atmosphere of the actual Opening Ceremony to be held in three years time," Cho Yang-ho, President of Pyeongchang 2018, said.

"By building seamless teamwork and widening understanding of each other, all organisations will be able to work more closely."

Kim Jong, the Second Vice-Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, added: "We are now at a critical point where the success of the Games will be determined, and everyone involved in the Games should consider themselves as a national representative and give their best.

"The Ministry will also try its best to best support the Games and upgrade the image of Korea and Gangwon Province."
