A review of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports award process is set to open at the sixth edition of the Creative Forum at the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai from tomorrow.
The award, which honours individuals, teams and establishments that demonstrate creativity in the field of sports, will be presented to the various winners at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The Creative Forum will also include two sessions, which will contain open discussions between those who have been given the award in the past as well as containing a review of the previous recipients of the lucrative award.
This year, recipients of the prestigious prize include Prince Albert II of Monaco, who will be given the International Sports Figure of 2014, following in the footsteps of current International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.
Speakers at the event include Ahmed Al-Kamali, Member of the International Federation & President of the UAE Athletics Association, Algerian football referee Jamal Al-Haymoudi and Abdul Hakim Al-Shano, who was the first Arab to preside over an International Military Sports Council (CISM).
The respective bodies of the Award are keen to arrange further events in several other Arab cities in order to boost the culture of creativity, particularly with regards to sport.
A large number of people are expected to attend the event as all those involved with sport in the United Arab Emirates have been invited, such as members of sports associations, clubs, corporations and athletes.
There will also be the opportunity for members from different nations to get together and revel in the achievements of sport in the Arab world in the past year.
The two-day Creative Forum will begin tomorrow, with the winners expected to be announced on Wednesday (January 14).
