Tickets for the game, due to be played at the O2 arena on January 15, went on public sale yesterday at 9am and sold out before 10am, marking the NBA's fastest ever sell-out in the UK.

It's the fifth NBA regular-season game to be played in London since 2011, all of which have sold out.

"We are thrilled with these results and really want to thank our fans for their ongoing support," said Benjamin Morel, NBA senior vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"With these exciting teams coming to London prepared to compete, our fans can look forward to an authentic NBA experience delivering the entertainment, excitement and all-around spectacle European fans have come to know and love."

NBA Global Games London 2015 is the ninth consecutive NBA contest to sell out at the O2 arena, a venue owned by leading sports and entertainment presenters AEG, dating back to 2007.

"We are extremely happy that our long-standing global partnership with the NBA has fuelled such great passion and anticipation for NBA action at the O2, the world's most popular venue," said Matthieu Van Veen, senior vice-president of AEG Sports Europe.

"The demand for this event is huge and we are delighted to have sold it out in record time on our ticketing platform AXS.com."

Along with the game in London, NBA Global Games includes a regular-season game in Mexico City featuring the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 12.

The full 2014-15 NBA Global Games schedule includes a total of nine NBA teams playing seven games, comprising of two regular-season and five pre-season games, in seven cities across six countries.

"We are looking forward to coming to London for our first ever game in the UK," said Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Knight.

"The opportunity to play in front of fans in London and to explore a different city and represent the Bucks organisation will be a unique experience for us all."

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony added: "On behalf of my team mates and the entire Knicks organisation, I want to say how excited I am to be returning to London for NBA Global Games 2015.

"I have played several times in London both for the Knicks and the US Olympic team and have fond memories of the city and the great fans."

Fans are encouraged to follow NBA UK on Twitter and like the organisation's Facebook page as a limited number of tickets may become available through releases closer to the game.
