Sports data and media company Infostrada Sports has been announced as the official data partner of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) in a three-year deal.
As part of the agreement, Infostrada Sports will be in charge of providing official results and full athlete biographies for the IWF and deliver a media guide, general statistical previews about the favourites, about the specific tournament and about historical results for major weightlifting events.
This will include delivering "facts and figures" for the upcoming World Championships, due to take place in Almaty, Kazkakhstan from November 8 to 16.
"Recently the IWF has significantly enhanced the sport presentation and the services to its media and public clients including its social media, appearance, branding etc," said IWF President Dr Tamas Ajan.
"In addition to its traditionally available athlete database and result service on its website the IWF with this partnership is now able to satisfy the demand from its stakeholders with personalised content."
Last month, Infostrada Sports delivered all biographies and historical data for its third consecutive Asian Games in Incheon, which followed on from its role as the official news service provider for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The firm has also worked at Delhi 2010, Manchester 2002, the Rio 2007 Pan American Games and the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
In January this year, it extended its deal with the International Cycling Union, providing online tailor-made video archiving solutions.
"Infostrada Sports is delighted to enter into this ground breaking arrangement with one of the oldest and most respected International Federations, to exchange data and ensure the best quality for media and sports fans," said Infostrada Sports chief executive Danny Menken.
"We have a proven track record of delivering quality operations and first class content.
"With our unique services we take a huge issue off the shoulders of the IWF media office in providing media and the weightlifting community with the best possible content.
"At the same time we are proud that we will collaborate with the IWF to ensure their official results data forms the quality base of our data analysis."
