Dow Korea has hosted an Olympic flag raising ceremony to celebrate Pyeongchang 2018 ©Pyeongchang 2018/FacebookDow Korea today hosted a special Olympic flag raising ceremony to celebrate the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games.

Some 200 employees of the Olympic Games Official Chemistry Company gathered at the Dow Seoul Technology Centre in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, for the event commemorating the Olympics and Paralympics, which will take place in the South Korean county in four years' time.

Among them was outgoing Dow Olympic Operations vice-president George Hamilton, Dow Korea country manager Jae-Hoon Lee and Dow Asia Pacific President Peter Sykes, as well as Pyeongchang 2018 secretary general and vice-president of planning and administration Young-Jin Kwak and South Korea's ski team coach Toby Dawson, himself an Olympic medallist having won moguls bronze at Turin 2006.

As well as for Pyeongchang 2018, worldwide Olympic partner Dow will provide technologies for infrastructure, venues and sustainability programmes at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games following its work at London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

Dow was also last month named as the Official Carbon Partner for Rio 2016 to help mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
