Fresh from claiming the European crown in Swansea on Thursday (August 21), Low finished the season by claiming the win at the Alexander Stadium, adding 13 centimetres to her world mark with a jump of 4.60 metres to finish ahead of Italian world champion Martina Caironi.

Swiss duo Marcel Hug and Manuela Schaer also added to their wins in Swansea by easing to expected wins in the men's and women's T53/T54 1500 metres respectively.

Dutchwoman Marlou van Rhijn recovered from a poor start to power to victory in the T43/T44 100m with a season's best time of 13.13sec, just ahead of German newcomer Irmgard Bensusan, who clocked 13.14.

"That was not my plan," said the European and world 100m champion afterwards.

"I slipped at the start, but I love these kind of races where you have to dip at the finish."

There were also wins for British athletes Joanna Butterfield, Hannah Cockroft and Dan Greaves to continue the European success.

Butterfield followed up her Swansea victory by taking the women's F32/F51 club throw title, while Hannah Cockroft bested The Netherlands' Amy Siemons and compatriot Melissa Nicholls on her way to victory in the T34 100m.

Greaves renewed his rivalry with Paralympic and world champion Aled Davies in the F42/44 discus and secured his second win of the summer over Davies after claiming gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

A throw of 60.01m was enough to see Greaves take the win ahead of the Welshman with Germany's Guofeng Kang in third.

"The season couldn't have gone any better for me - two golds and personal bests," said Greaves.

"Today I was up against the world record holder so it was a tough competition but the victory means a lot."

Brazilians Veronica Hipolito and Terezinha Guilhermina led the non-European challenge in Birmingham as they claimed victories in the women's T37/T38 400m and T11/T12 100m respectively.

Tunisia's world and Paralympic champion Walid Ktila powered to first place in the men's T34 100m, while Japan's Atsushi Yamamoto crossed the line first in the men's T42 200m ahead of American Regas Woods.

Woods' compatriot Richard Browne cruised to victory in the men's T43/T44 100m despite slowing up slightly at 60m to finish ahead of fellow American Jarryd Wallace and German Felix Streng.

"I am in a lot of pain, it's been off and on for a couple of weeks," revealed Browne afterwards.

"I wanted to put on a show when my friend Jonnie's [Peacok, British Paralympic champion] not here."

Peacock had withdrawn from the event because of a late injury.
