The IPC has announced the make-up of six of its Standing Committees ©IPCThe International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the composition of six of its 11 Standing Committees, with 21 countries represented in the 37 positions filled, while two places remain vacant.

The appointments were made following a meeting of the IPC Governing Board at its headquarters in Bonn at the weekend.

Spaniard José Pascual will chair the Anti-Doping Committee and will be joined by Joseph de Pencier of Canada, Australian Nicki Vance, Greek George Tsamis, Katarzyna Rogowiec of Poland, Chin Sim Teoh of Singapore, South Korea's Kyu-Hwan Lee and Matthew Fedoruk of the United States.

Another Spaniard, Miguel Sagarra, will head the Audit and Finance Committee, which will include Gadiel Blusztein of Israel, Briton Hilda Gibson, Christo Kok of The Netherlands, Singaporean Mohan Menon and Germany's Michael Rosenbaum.

Americans Anne Hart, Cheri Blauwet and Linda Mastandrea have been appointed to lead the Classification, Medical, and Legal and Ethics Committees, respectively.

Hart will be joined by Germany's Jürgen Schwittai, Italian Francesca Porcellato, Scott Field of South Africa, Australian Sean Tweedy and Graham Arthur of Great Britain.

The Medical Committee will be composed of Dutchman Jaap Stomphorst, South Africa's Wayne Derman, Briton Nick Webborn, James Kissick of Canada, Swede Jan Lexell, Yetsa Tuakli-Wosornu of Ghana and Russian Guzel Idrisova.

Joining Mastandrea on the Legal and Ethics Committee is fellow North American Carla Qualtrough of Canada, Zimbabwean Winnet Kanyerere, Mark Copeland of New Zealand and South Korean Sora Noh.

One position remains to be filled on the Legal and Ethics Committee, as is the case with the Sports Science Committee which will be chaired by Yves Vanlandewijck of Belgium.

He will be joined by Walter Thompson of the United States, Israeli Osnat Fliess-Douer, David Legg of Canada and Raymond So of Hong Kong.

The IPC says it aims to fill the two vacant positions with a current Paralympic athlete who has relevant experience and competed at a Paralympic Games in the last eight years.

These will be announced in due course.

The elected members of each Committee will serve terms until 2017 and will meet at least once a year until then.

The five other IPC Committees include Athletes with High Support Needs, Development, Education, Paralympic Games and Women in Sport.
