International Paralympic Committee Athletics says its new-look website gives the sport a bolder digital identity ©IPC AthleticsA new-look website has been launched by International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics, which it claims will give the sport "a bolder digital identity".

The changes have gone live today at www.ipc-Athletics.org, and have also been rolled out to the mobile version of the website.

As part of the redesign, sports pictograms and pictures of leading athletes have been placed at the top of each page on the site.

It continues to boast features, news, results and rankings.

Ryan Montgomery, head of IPC Athletics, said: "The IPC Athletics website has become a tremendous resource for fans and media alike, and we are continuing to enhance its look and content to ensure our sport keeps up with the latest digital trends and establishes a brand name for itself globally."

IPC Athletics added that enhancing its website is "a step toward promoting the largest existing Para-sport to a global audience as its own brand - a goal outlined in the IPC Athletics Strategic Plan published at the end of 2013".

The IPC Athletics Grand Prix series, which began in February in Dubai and is composed of nine events, is due to culminate with the final in Birmingham on August 25.

Before that, the IPC Athletics European Championships take place in Swansea from August 18 to 23.

The IPC acts as the International Federation for nine sports, including athletics.
