Daniel Dax will be the new Luxembourg Olympic and Sporting Committee secretary general ©EOCApril 30 - The Luxembourg Olympic and Sporting Committee (COSL) has revealed that LuxFLAG (Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency) chief executive Daniel Dax will be its new secretary general.

The 53-year-old's appointment follows a unanimous decision by the COSL board ahead of incumbent Marlyse Pauly's retirement on October 1.

Pauly, dubbed "the linchpin of the excellent 2013 Games of the Small States of Europe held in the Duchy" by the European Olympic Committees (EOC), has held the COSL secretary general post for more than a decade after first being elected in 2003, before being re-elected in both 2005 and 2009.

Dax, who is also a former legal adviser to the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, is already a member of the board and will take up the post from tomorrow to work jointly with Pauly until her retirement.
