The African Gymnastics Union (AGU) has yet to confirm which city in Namibia will host the Championships in place of Cairo.

They were due to be held from April 19 until 25, but will now be staged from April 22 until 27.

Trampoline, tumbling, double mini-trampoline and aerobic gymnastics are all on the tournament programme.

AGU President Ali Zaater said the Union has "the firm hope that we will be able to organise the next edition [of the African Championships] in Egypt".

The junior competition in individual trampoline at the African Championships will be a qualifying event for the Youth Olympic Games being held in Nanjing, China in August.

The International Gymnastics Federation said it "has taken note of this decision with understanding and addressed a message of support for Egypt, with hopes that the country may recover its calm and serenity as soon as possible".
