Lynch will be looking to retain the title he won last time out in Los Angeles, when he beat world record holder Gui Hua Liang of China in the final over the three kilometre race.

That win followed victory in the C3 time-trial event at the Road World Championships in Denmark in October 2011.

Lynch will be joined at the Bicentenary Velodrome in Aguascalientes by fellow London 2012 Paralympian Enda Smyth, who will be competing in C3 events.

Ireland also has the reigning world champion in the female tandem event, but the duo that secured gold will not be in Mexico to defend the title.

Katie-George Dunlevy and pilot Eve McCrystal will be tasked with retaining the crown won by Catherine Walsh and Francine Meehan.

James Brown, who took bronze in the road time trial B race at London 2012, will be partnered by Bryan McCrystal in the men's tandem.

The main focus of all the riders will be on the individual pursuit, while they will also compete in the kilo time trial.

"The pursuit is the main focus for this campaign," said team coach Neill Delahaye.

"All the riders are honing their track skills in two intensive training blocks in Majorca over the six weeks."

The fifth Para-cycling Track World Championships are due to take place from April 10 to 13.
