New treadmills, steppers, cross-trainers and bikes will help improve members' experiences at the Stadium and provide these members, and users alike, with "the best facilities and value for money", according to a statement on their website.

"At Stoke Mandeville Stadium, we are committed to providing the best services possible for our members in a bid to improve their health and well-being," added Ian Seabrook, acting contract manager at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.

"We hope this equipment will be appreciated by users and ensure the Stadium is offering the community the very latest CV equipment.

"We would like to thank our members in advance for their patience whilst the gym is closed as the equipment is being installed."

The installation is set to take place next Wednesday and Thursday (January 5 and 6), with the gym to be closed between 6.45am-10pm GMT on the fifth, and 6.45am-6pm on the sixth.

Other activities will be available for members including swimming and group training, with full body circuit training scheduled every 30 minutes in the Sports Hall.
