January 20 - "Significant damage" has been done to the floor of the Copper Box, the venue which hosted handball at the London 2012 Olympics, after a fitness event was held there at the weekend.
The "Battle of London" event, which included gymnastics and weightlifting during two "gruelling days" of competition, is understood to have left the venue on the Olympic Park unusable for netball matches scheduled there for today and tomorrow.
England Netball said venue operator Greenwich Leisure Ltd (GLL) has "judged that there has been significant damage inflicted to the floor which is now not of the sufficient quality to facilitate and host an international netball event".
The matches, part of a Tri-Series involving England, Jamaica and New Zealand, will now be held behind closed doors at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
Refunds are being offered to ticket holders for the four matches via www.englandnetball.co.uk.
GLL said floor protection was installed for the mass participation competition - which involved 200 participants and 6,000 spectators - but it "was not sufficient and did not prevent damage to the floor".
She added: "Contractors worked through the night to repair the damage, however after consultation with floor specialists and England Netball this morning it was agreed that the floor was still not up to a standard to accommodate elite netball.
"At that point the decision to relocate the match was made.
"Repairs are now well under way and the venue is expected to be fully operational within the next 48 hours with scheduled events at the Copper Box Arena going ahead as planned from 24th January 2014."
The Copper Box, which also hosted goalball during the London 2012 Paralympics, held 7,000 spectators during the Games.
