The event, due to take place at the Raffles Hotel on January 11, will celebrate leading figures in the sport with seven awards, comprising Male Table Tennis Star, Female Table Tennis Star, Para Male Table Tennis Star, Para Female Table Tennis Star, Fans' Male Table Tennis Star, Fans' Female Table Tennis Star and Table Tennis Star Rally.

Organised in conjunction with the 2013 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals, the Star Awards will feature a special auction, with the profits from which going towards the ITTF's global development scheme, the Dream Building Programme.

The event will also be streamed live on the sport's world governing body's YouTube Channel.

"After the success of the inaugural 2013 Fundraising dinner during our World Championships in Paris, we have decided to make it an annual event and in 2014 the dinner will be held in conjunction with the World Tour Grand Finals and the newly developed ITTF Star Awards," ITTF President Adham Sharara said.

"A sport is but nothing without its athletes.

"And with your help, we can honour deserving athletes, and continue to develop table tennis and young stars through the ITTF Dream Building Programme."
