Alberto Budeisky has been elected as the new President of the Pan American Hockey FederationSeptember 27 - Alberto "Coco" Budeisky has been named new President of the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF).


The Argentine replaces Venezuela's Antonio von Ondarza, who has retired after 26 years in the role. 

He is the first Argentinian to hold the position at the PAHF, which has 26 members. 

Budeisky received votes from 13 of the 23 national associations involved in the vote, seeing off his nearest rival René Granat of Venezuala, who claimed 10 of the votes.

Antonio van Ondarza had been President of the PAHF since 1987 and became vice-president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) in 1988.

He received the 2010 Spirit of Sport Award of SportAccord in Dubai for his lifelong commitment to hockey and sport in general.

The 2013 Congress, held in Mendoza, Argentina, also saw Nicole Grant of Jamaica, Hector 
Motta Rios of Puerto Rico, Walter Kramer of Chile and Herberth Lovo of El Salvador elected onto the Board.

Derek Sandison of Canada was re-elected as PAHF treasurer.
