Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 English National Badminton Championships, which will be held in Milton KeynesSeptember 10 - Tickets are now on sale for next year's English National Badminton Championships, which will take place at the Stadium MK Arena in Milton Keynes for the first time next February.

It represents the first time that the annual event will be held in the city in which Badminton England has its headquarters, and it will be the first sporting competition to be staged at the venue located on the site of the stadium that is home to League One football team Milton Keynes Dons.

"I am really looking forward to hosting the nationals in a brand new venue and hopefully it will help to promote the sport to a whole new audience," head of major events and competitions at Badminton England Nicola Moloney said

"Bringing a major event to the home of badminton in Milton Keynes is very exciting and with it being the venue's first major sporting event, it will be great to showcase the sport in a different environment."

After being held in Manchester for the past nine years, the tournament will now be held in Milton Keynes, where Badminton England recently gained planning permission to build a new £22 million ($34 million/€26 million) headquarters on the site of the National Bowl.

Tickets for the event went on sale today priced from £10 ($15.50/€12) for Badminton England members and £12 ($19/€14) for non-members.

"It is very exciting to see tickets for the English National Badminton Championships on sale as it makes the whole thing real," Milton Keynes Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said.

"It is also a great landmark for the arena at Stadium MK as the Championships will hopefully be the first of many major sporting events to be held in the venue.

"I am looking forward to the championship and to showcasing what a magnificent venue the Arena is for Milton Keynes."

The 2014 English National Badminton Championships will take place on February 8 and 9.
