151589024July 25 - The Canadian men's wheelchair basketball team that went undefeated to take the gold medal at London 2012 will put their reputation as the world's top team to the test next month as they look to impress in their first competitive appearance since the Paralympics at the Americas Cup in Bogota.

Canada will have to ward off competition from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Venezuela in order to finish in the top four and gain qualification for the World Championships in the South Korean city of Incheon next summer.

"This tournament is a great opportunity for our athletes and coaches to build on our recent accomplishments," said Team Canada men's head coach Jerry Tonello.

"A top-four finish will allow us to continue working towards the top of the podium at the 2014 World Championship and Rio 2016.

"We have a good combination of veterans and young players which makes for a dynamic and energised group keen on building on Canada's success."
