FIG HQMay 9 - The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has named the six members who will make up its new Disciplinary Commission.

Tunisian Rached Gharbi, Syrian Mohamad Youssef Altabaa, Switzerland's Paul Engelmann, Marc Schoenmaekers of Belgium, Azerbaijan's Mehman Aliyev and Serbian Snezana Lakicevic Stojacic were all elected to the body at the 13th FIG Congress in Liverpool today.

Six lawyers - Germany's Andreas Zagklis, New Zealand's Michelle Duncan, and Karin Meseck, Daniele Moro, Matthias Scherer and Bernhard Welten all of Switzerland - were named by the FIG executive committee to work alongside the new commission members.

The new appointments mean that FIG will now designate a three-person panel – one member of the disciplinary commission and two of the lawyers – to each new case opened.
