Julian Pace BonelloMay 1 - Julian Pace Bonello has been appointed as the new President of the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) at its annual meeting at its headquarters in Tal-Qroqq.


The former Deputy President was elected unopposed to replace Lino Farrugia Sacco, who had decided to stand down after 13 years.

Pace Bonello was co-founder of the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association in 1975 and had been its President for 38 years, but will now step down from that role.

He is also President of the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Federation.

Delegates also approved Mark Cutajar as the new Deputy President while Ivan Balzan replaced Cutajar as director of sport.

Joe Cassar and David Azzo-pardi retained their post as secretary and treasurer respectively for the next four years.

"I feel honoured to have been entrusted with such a prestigious position," said Pace Bonello, who had been the Deputy President for 12 years.

"It is a position that entails a lot of responsibility.

"But, I have always approached these challenges with a lot of enthusiasm and commitment."
