Wiggle HondaMay 1 - Great Britain's London 2012 gold-medal winning team pursuit trio of Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell and Dani King will compete for Team Wiggle Honda at the IG London Nocturne at Smithfield Market in June.

Wiggle Honda, owned and managed by 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Rochelle Gilmore, will make their UK team debut at the event following impressive results this season thanks to the likes of three-time world champion Giorgia Bronzini.

The team is backed by sporting apparel and cycling specialist company Wiggle.co.uk, along with Honda Motor Europe and The Bradley Wiggins Foundation.

"I'm really excited about this race, there are always so many fans lining the streets, and we'll want to put on a great performance." said Trott, who also won Olympic gold in the omnium at London 2012.

"The IG London Nocturne will be important for us leading into the National Championships - it will be our last real test against a competitive field."

Team manager Gilmore added: "The IG London Nocturne will be the first time Wiggle Honda officially race as a team in the UK, in front of a massive British audience.

"This is a really big and important event for our team.

"We're extremely excited about racing in front of a home crowd against a strong line-up of professional women."

James Pope, managing director of event organisers FACE Partnership, said: "We are committed to promoting women's cycling, and I am delighted that the Nocturne will feature the strongest women's professional team."

More than 10,000 people flocked to Smithfield Market for the event last year, and FACE Partnership are looking for an even bigger and better event this time around.

The Nocturne will feature elite competition from the world's best cyclists, as well as races such as a penny farthing race and a folding bike race.

The event will also feature a cycling Expo area, along with food stalls and offers in local bars and restaurants.

The 2013 IG London Nocturne will take place on Saturday June 8 and is free to attend.
