Adam-Hills-Last-Leg1October 19 - Australian television presenter and comedian Adam Hills has signed a new one year contract to work exclusively with Channel 4 after he received widespread plaudits while working as one of the main presenters during the broadcaster's coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The 42-year-old from Sydney, who was born without a right foot and wears a prosthesis, proved one of the most popular Channel 4 presenters for London 2012 as he anchored the The Last Leg comedy show every evening of the Paralympics.

The contract includes a new series of The Last Leg and Hills (pictured top, centre) will also work with Channel 4 to develop ideas for content.

Fellow comic Josh Widdecombe (pictured top, left) and sports reporter Alex Brooker (pictured top, right), who featured heavily in The Last Leg with Hills, will also return for the new season which will air in 2013 following a Christmas special.

"The Paralympics is one of my favourite events in the world," said Hills, who also who hosted ABC's live coverage of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

"When Channel 4 offered me the chance to cover it with The Last Leg, I jumped at it.

"It's not often you get the chance to do something you absolutely love that people seem to connect with.

"I thought The Last Leg was going to be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"I'm over the moon to think that we can do it all again."

The deal will also see Channel 4 show a stand-up special of Hills live in concert recorded at the Lyric Theatre in London's West End.

"We knew The Last Leg was something special and we were in no doubt we wanted to keep the show's spirit of open and frank debate alive," said Channel 4's entertainment commissioning editor Syeda Irtizaali.

"We are working on a number of great ideas that will help push the show forward from its Paralympic origins into a broad, intelligent and entertaining series.

"I'm hugely looking forward to working again with Adam, Alex and Josh."

The last comic to sign a similar exclusive deal with Channel 4 was Micky Flanagan, who has piloted several shows, although none have yet come to fruition.

However, he was a team captain on the advertising-based panel show The Mad Bad Ad Show.
