Australian brand RM Williams designed ceremonial wear for the uniform, with competition and casual wear put together by sports performance company 2XU.

Launched at Circular Quay's Overseas Passenger Terminal by the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC), the traditional green and yellow attire will next be on show at the London 2012 Opening Ceremony.

It was modelled by swimming star and multiple Paralympic gold medallist Matt Cowdrey (pictured above, left), with fellow swimming Paralympic medallist Annabelle Williams (pictured above, right), wheelchair rugby star Ryley Batt and triple Beijing 2008 gold medal winning athlete Evan O'Hanlon (pictured below).

Jason Hellwig, Chef de Mission of the 2012 Australian Paralympic team and APC chief executive, said: "The APC gave RM Williams and 2XU the task to ensure members of the 2012 Australian Paralympic team look and feel their best by providing a uniform that rises above the world's elite.

"I'm delighted to say that this task has been accomplished.


"As Australia's leading high performance sports brand and a true world leader when it comes to innovative technical design, 2XU represented the ideal competition and casual apparel partner for the APC and the Australian 2012 Paralympic Team.

"Our association with RM Williams has also been a valuable one.

"RM Williams, the bush outfitter, is an iconic Australian brand famous for its high quality boots, clothing and accessories.

"The company has now applied its technical expertise in design and production to manufacture complete outfits for a diverse group of athletes and officials."

Australia won 23 gold medals at the last Paralympic Games in Beijing four years ago.
