Olle Dahlin

Olle Dahlin was re-elected the IBU President at the 15th Ordinary IBU Congress 2022 and is serving a second term in this role. He was first elected to the IBU Executive Board and served as the IBU vice-president for development in the period of 2014 to 2018, his first term.

He is a member of the Swedish Olympic Committee Executive Board. He is the Honorary President of the Swedish Biathlon Federation - prior to that, he was active in the roles of President, vice-president and Executive Board member.

Dahlin was a member of the Executive Board for the IBU World Championships 2008 in Oestersund, Sweden as well as the chairman/Executive Board Member of the IBU World Championships 2019 in Oestersund. He is a former athlete in skiing, shooting and biathlon.

When British skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean won the Olympic gold medal in ice dance at Sarajevo 1984 with 12 perfect 6.0s from every judge, for their interpretation of Maurice Ravel's Boléro, an important member of their team was singer-actor Michael Crawford. Crawford, who had played Frank Spencer in British sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em and the title role in the musical The Phantom of the Opera, had become a mentor to the pair in 1981 and went on to help them create their Olympic routine. Crawford said he “taught them how to act". He was present with their trainer Betty Callaway at the ringside at Sarajevo as they created one of the most iconic moments in Olympic history.
