The 14-day inspection will be carried out by FISU's International Technical Committee (CTI) and is set to take place from tomorrow until June 11.

It is the second inspection undertook by the CTI, following its first in November 2012, with this visit set to focus mainly on Games operational readiness per sport as well as the competition venues.

The inspection delegation, led by John Warnock, will be divided into three groups, including the FISU Secretariat staff, CTI members and technical delegates for each sport.

The inspection will begin with a sports seminar tomorrow, followed by visits to the 68 competition and training facilities for the 20 sports, not including swimming, in order to examine the facility standards, court layout, lighting, medical offices, locker rooms, and showers at each venue.

The sports seminar will see Warnock, along with Adam Sotiriadis, a FISU consultant, and Melanie Stallecker, a FISU sport assistant, give a presentation on organisation and structure of sports management; technical support and service; preparation and operation of competition venues and the main operation centre; and other sports management related issues.

Commenting ahead of the inspection, Kim Yoon-suk, secretary general of Gwangju 2015, said: "We hope that this inspection will establish a mutual understanding between FISU and Gwangju to go on with preparations for the Universiade, according to plan."
