I was pleased to read the report on FIFA and Human Rights from Professor John G Ruggie of Harvard University.

What a fascinating insight into FIFA we had last week.

FIFA Presidential candidate Shaikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa claimed he would revisit the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bid processes “if serious wrongful conduct is proven by a court of law” should he be elected as head of world football’s governing body.

This FIFA stuff is the most radical story in the history of sport.

So far, 14 people have been arrested on corruption charges relating to the selection of World Cup hosts, bungs for Presidential election votes and backhanders for the placement of multi-million dollar commercial contracts.

In short, FIFA is not an organisation you’d want to be directly associated with at the moment. Or at least, you’d think not…
