The director of THG Sports, one of two agencies at the centre of the controversy over alleged illegal ticket sales at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, has returned to Ireland according to his lawyer.

Pyeongchang 2018 have been asked to suspend their process for approving THG Sports as the authorised ticket reseller (ATR) for Ireland by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

THG Sports, the company at the heart of the scandal at the Rio 2016 which led to the arrest of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board member Patrick Hickey, will be the authorised ticket reseller (ATR) for the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) for Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.

Brazilian police investigating ticketing touting at last month's Olympic Games here widened their search today when they named the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) sports director Martin Burke as a new suspect and claimed that they needed to speak to International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.
