The large hill world champion scored a total of 275.7 points, with jumps of 132 metres and 135.5m, to finish 0.3 points ahead of Slovenia's Peter Prevc and 10.4 points clear of local hero Rune Velta.

Freund now holds a 54-point advantage over Prevc in the overall standings after following up wins in Kuopio, Finland, and Trondheim, Norway, with yet another victory.

"It was a lot of fun again today, but I also had some luck with the wind conditions," said the 26-year-old.

Austria's Stefan Kraft remains third in the overall standings, despite finishing 10th in the Norwegian capital, but finds himself a sizeable 120 points behind Freund.

The second individual men's competition in Oslo takes place tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in the women's competition Japan's Sara Takanashi could not prevent Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz from winning the overall title, despite coming out on top in the final leg of the season.

Takanashi scored a total of 263.8 points to finish ahead of the United States' Sarah Hendrickson on 257.1 and Canada's Taylor Henrich on 250.4, while Iraschko-Stolz came fifth.

Despite finishing outside the top four for only the second time this season, it proved to be enough for the Olympic silver medallist who finished with a total of 1,007 points, 34 more than defending champion Takanashi.

"I was looking forward to jumping on the large hill," said Takanashi.

"I'm happy that I managed to make two good jumps here.

"I made a lot of mistakes this season, but I learned a lot from them.

"The level of ladies ski jumping is getting higher every year so it's a pity that we don't have a lot of competitions.

"I hope there will be more next season."

Third place in the overall standings went to Germany's Carina Vogt, who claimed fourth spot in Oslo to end on 672 points.
