The Sochi 2014 winner finished both of his runs with the third fastest times to post a combined time of 1min 42.98sec which was enough to take the victory.

Dukurs finished in second after both runs had been completed, 0.17 seconds behind the victor.

But due to snowfall, his brother Tomass, the first run leader who had finished second in this season's three previous World Cup events, suffered in the second run finishing sixteenth fastest, with his combined time seeing him placing eighth overall.

The podium was rounded off by Matthew Antoine of the United States, with Great Britain's Dominic Parsons finishing just outside the medals in fourth.

The Durkurs brothers maintain the overall lead in the World Cup standings, with Martins heading the competition leaderboard with 885 points, 95 points ahead of Tomass.

Tretiakov, despite winning the World Cup sits thirteen in the overall standings, having competed at only two World Cups this season, with his first appearance seeing him finish third in Alternberg a week ago.

Meanwhile in the men's two man bobsleigh Switzerland's pair Beat Hefti and Alex Baumann earned victory, posting a combined time of 1min 41.16sec to continue their good form after also winning last week.

The Swiss duo finished 0.52 seconds ahead of Germany's Walther and Huebenbecker who trailed in second, while Canada's Kripps and Barnett rounded of the top three.
