Jade Jones has added the Commonwealth crown to her Olympic title ©Getty ImagesGreat Britain's Olympic champion Jade Jones claimed the women's under 57 kilogram title at the 2014 Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in Edinburgh.

The 21-year-old from Wales, who was making her debut at the Championships, bounced back from her defeat against Eva Calvo Gomez in the final of the World Taekwondo Federation Grand Prix in Manchester last month to beat Canada's Evelyn Gonda in the gold medal match.

Fellow Briton Jennifer Marjason and Australia's Renae Perkins won the bronze medals.

There was also success for Britain in the men's under 68kg, under 80kg and under 87kg categories, with Christian McNeish, Damon Samsun and Lutalo Muhammad taking home the gold medals respectively, and the women's under 49kg category, which Charlie Maddock triumphed in.

Feyi Pearce had to settle for a silver medal in the men's under 58kg category after losing out to Nigeria's Jamilu Mohammed in the final.

Canada's Melissa Pagnotta beat Kaitlin Blankenau in an all-Canadian women's under 67kg category final while compatriot Madeline Power overcame Australia's Kate McAdam in the women's 73kg category gold medal match.

In the Para-taekwondo categories, Britain's Brandon Naylor and Amy Truesdale were victorious in the men's K43 under 75 category and K44 women's 58kg category respectively, while Canada's Kelvy Pincherli-Castellanos prevailed in the men's K44 under 75kg category.
