The 32-year-old Henzell won the men's singles title after cruising past team-mate David Powell by four sets to one in the final to claim his fifth Oceania Cup win in the last seven years, guaranteeing his place at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) men's World Cup in Belgium later this year.

"I am very much looking forward to the experience," he said on booking his place at the World Cup.

"I had the best results of my career in the Olympics last year, so I am hoping to carry some of that form to Belgium.

"Hopefully I can knock out one of the top 10 players.

"That would be really special."

Miao completed a marvellous comeback against reigning champion Li Chunli of New Zealand, coming from three sets to one down in the final to win 4-3 to the delight of the home crowd.

"I would like to give my thanks to everybody here who are supporting me," she said following her win.

"Thanks to the organisers, the coaches, my parents and all my friends here.

"Thank you very much for your support."

The world number 196 is also relishing the chance to play against the world's top players in the women's World Cup, which will take place in the Japanese city of Kobe.

"Yes I am looking forward to the World Cup," she said.

"There will be even tougher competition as the World Cup, but I'm happy to qualify and have the opportunity to play against the top players from around the world."

The women's World Cup is due to take place in Kobe, Japan, rom September 21 until 23 whilst the men's equivalent is scheduled for Verviers in Belgium from October 25 to 27.
