England 2015 and the International Rugby Board (IRB) claimed they are confident of selling out the 13 venues during the six week tournament, which will also see 500,000 tickets available to buy at £50 ($81/€60) or less.

The cheapest adult ticket will start at £15 ($24/€18) for some of the matches involving lower profile nations while child admission to 41 of the 49 matches will range from £7 ($11/€8.50) to £15 ($24/€18).

Organisers claim the strategy has been designed to be as accessible and affordable as possible despite the cheapest adult ticket for an England match starting at £50 ($81/€60) and rising to £315 ($514/€378) in the pool stages.

Tickets for knockout matches range from £15 ($24/€18) to £515 ($840/€618) while prices for the final at London's Twickenham Stadium start at £150 ($245/€180) rising to £715 ($1167/€858).

"This announcement represents a fantastic opportunity for fans around the world to experience what promises to be a very special Rugby World Cup," claimed IRB chief executive Brett Gosper.

"It is the day that they can start to plan.

"There are affordable and accessible options to suit every need."

The first tranche of tickets will be available to buy from January 1 as part of travelling fan packages followed by hospitality packages available from February 2.

These packages will be managed by Rugby Travel and Hospitality (RTH).

In May and June of next year, England 2015 says it will work closely with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to make tickets available to people involved at the grassroots level of the game through the "Rugby fans through Rugby clubs" scheme.

Organisers hope to roll out this scheme to other European Rugby Unions and details of final club ticketing programme will be confirmed in early 2014.

In September 2014, a year out from the start of the tournament, members of the public will be able to apply through a general sales process.

Tickets for oversubscribed matches will be entered into a ballot system which will be operated by official ticketing partner for the RFU, Ticketmaster.

Any remaining tickets will go on real-time sale in November and December 2014.
