The 2014 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships are expected to attract competitors from 33 nations ©Baku 2014March 24 - Thirty-three nations are gearing up to compete at the 2014 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku.

The tournament is expected to attract 258 gymnasts, who will compete for nine sets of medals in the Azerbaijani capital.

Among those countries who will participate in the competition, taking place at the newly-constructed National Gymnastics Arena on June 13 to 15, are Russia, who topped the overall seniors medal table at last year's event in Austria, runners-up Ukraine and third place finishers Belarus.

Hosts Azerbaijan, as well as Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia and Turkey are also expected to be represented.

The European Championships are set to get underway with an Opening Ceremony on the first day, along with the junior qualifiers, and hoops and ball competitions.

Clubs, ribbons, the team competition and senior all around finals follow on June 14, while the final day will feature the junior and group teams individual finals before a gala concert closes the continental showpiece.

Delegations of the participating countries will get to stay in the Athletes' Village that has been built for the inaugural European Games taking place in Baku in 2015.
