The pair will be joined by multiple Olympic medal winner Richard Thompson and International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League gold medallist Michelle-Lee Ahye, both sprinters, in the Scottish city for the Games, due to take place from July 23 to August 3.

Two-time Olympic relay medallist Keston Bledman, world sprint silver medallist Darrel Brown, Olympic 400m bronze medallist Lalonde Gordon, Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games triple jump silver medallist Ayanna Alexander and Olympic shot putter Cleopatra Borel also feature on the team.

Brian Lewis, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee, is confident in the abilities of the squad travelling to Glasgow 2014.

"It's a track and field team that will see the best athletes we have," he told insidethegames.

"Once all remains well, it's very likely that we will exceed our previous best Commonwealth Games medal haul of nine medals.

"We are delighted that we are able to bring our best available team to Glasgow."

Eighty-four athletes in 12 other sports, including Olympic bronze medal winning swimmer George Bovell, were previously named for the Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games earlier this month.

Lewis revealed to insidethegames earlier this year that his nation is aiming for a top 10 finish at Glasgow 2014.
