FINA and UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) will use details from the biological passport programme that monitors changes in an athlete's blood profile to indicate probable doping.

FINA President Julio Maglione (pictured) said: "Despite being an endless war, the available technology allows us to detect more efficiently the cheaters."

UKAD chief executive Andy Parkinson commented: "Any athlete competing, training or visiting the UK can expect to be tested at anytime, anywhere."

UKAD has signed similar agreements with the international cycling and athletics federations.
