They will join Kazan 2015, Organising Committee of the FINA World Championships, and aquatics engineering experts Counsilman-Hunsaker to complete the line up of partners for the second World Aquatics Convention.

"We are delighted to welcome Malmsten and the city of Gwangju as partners of the FINA World Aquatics Convention," said FINA President Julio Maglioni.

"Having supplied equipment at London 2012, Malmsten leads the way in delivering the highest quality competition equipment.

"Gwangju – known as the City of Light – can assist FINA to promote its convention in new territories."

Swedish swimming specialist Malmsten has 35 years experience in supplying championship pool equipment such as racing lanes for swimming and open water swimming, water polo field of play markings, water polo goals and nets.

It was chosen as an official supplier of FINA in 2009 and has since continued to support the body.

"I must admit, we at Malmsten AB are very proud to support FINA with its Convention," said Margareta Malmsten, chief executive and owner of Malmsten.

"We love the world of swimming, and partnering with the second FINA Convention allows us to promote Malmsten and its services to the world of aquatics".

Meanwhile, Gwangju, which will host the Summer Universiade in 2015, is a city eager to rejuvenate its sporting developments.

In doing so, the Government of Korea is pursuing a national project that fosters Gwangju as the "cultural and sporting Mecca of Asia".

"The City of Gwangju is delighted to partner with the second FINA World Aquatics Convention," said Yoon-Suk Kim, secretary general of Gwangju 2015.

"We are determined to spread the value of sport as a powerful tool for fostering peace and development, and we believe supporting FINA events will help us achieve our goal."

FINA is the sole worldwide sports organisation governing five elements of aquatics – swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water swimming.

The FINA World Aquatic Convention is a biannual event that enables all areas of the aquatic community to share knowledge and ideas, build relationships and develop an exciting and positive future for the sport.

This will be the second convention of its kind taking place at the World Trade Centre in Moscow between October 29 and November 1.
