Young rider award for Hua Tian

December 2 - Alex Hua Tian (pictured), who became a celebrity when he became the first rider to represent China's equestrian team in an Olympics at last year's Games in Beijing, was one of the first recipients of the new International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Awards for promising young riders.



Princess Haya defends new drug rules

November 29 - Princess Haya (pictured), the President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), has defended the controversial vote earlier this month for the reintroduction into the sport of some non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, including bute, to treat horses.

November 19 - A major new row over doping in equestrian has erupted after Sven Holmberg (pictured middle), the vice-president of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), criticised the adoption of a new anti-doping programme that allows the controlled use of the controversial anti-inflammatory phenylbutazone, which was banned 20 years ago.
