October 7 – Toronto 2015 have unveiled their plans to host the largest ever Parapan Am Games with an estimated 1,500 athletes set to compete in 15 sports including, for the first time in the history of the event, wheelchair rugby.

February 23 - The town of Markham has unveiled its plans for the Markham Pan Am Centre which is set to host both the water polo and badminton competitions at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
February 2 - The velodrome for the Toronto 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games is set to be located in the small town of Milton after it was confirmed at their municipal council meeting that a permanent velodrome will be constructed at the Milton Education Village.
January 27 - The Toronto 2015 Organising Committee has decided to adopt a cluster system for the Pan American Games, marking what the Games chief executive Ian Troop (pictured) described as a "fundamental shift" in their venue planning.

January 5 - Paul Henderson (pictured), former President of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and the man who led the Toronto 1996 Olympic and Paralympic bid, has hit out at the city as it prepares to host 2015 Pan American Games saying that escalating costs could see the competition costing as much as $4 billion (£2.4 billion/€2.9 billion) to stage.

October 21 - Ian Troop, the chief executive of the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games Organising Committee, hopes that the successful staging of the event could lead to a winning Olympic and Paralympic bid from the Canadian city.
At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Iranian judoka Arash Miresmaeili was disqualified for weighing in at nearly four pounds above the limit for his weight class of his under-66 kilograms match against an Israeli opponent Ehud Vaks in the first round. It was claimed Miresmaeili had gone on an eating binge to protest the International Olympic Committee's recognition of the state of Israel. Iran does not recognise the state of Israel, and Miresmaeili's actions won praise from high-ranking Iranian officials. Mohammad Khatami, the country's President at the time, was quoted as saying Miresmaili's actions would be "recorded in the history of Iranian glories". He was later awarded $125,000 by the Government - the same amount given to Olympic gold medallists.
The role will consist in representing the APAC sales teams in Paris HQs, relaying and following up their demands to central departments, coordinating the preparation of proposals and the delivery of integrated partnerships.
Popular Dutchman Raymond Van Barneveld will make his farewell appearance at the Professional Darts Corporation's World Championships that start in London this week, as the sport continues to work on its long-range Olympic target. Mike Rowbottom reports.
