Shock as Abuja do not bid for 2018 Commonwealth Games but Sri Lanka does

April 1 - As expected, two cities submitted formal nominations to the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games by last night's deadline - but the shock was that the Nigerian capital Abuja, who had always claimed that they would bid again following their defeat to Glasgow for the 2014 edition, was not among them.







British broadcaster promises best-ever coverage of Commonwealth Games

March 25 - Satellite Information Services' (SIS) Live has promised the best-ever coverage of this year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi after awarding a key and exclusive contract for broadcast services, including technical equipment and diversified production and Coverage services event to South East Asia's largest broadcast services company, Zoom Communications Ltd. 



Dame Kelly insists England will be in no danger in Delhi

March 21 - Double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes (pictured) has hit out athletes who have withdrawn from this year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, including world heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis, and specially those who have expressed concerns over competing because of security concerns.

March 17 - New Delhi's preparations for the Commonwealth Games have again come under fire from Mike Hooper, the chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), who has admitted that the organisation is growing increasingly frustrated at the missed deadlines.
