The reigning European champions maintained a 100 per cent record across the three matches as they topped European Championship silver medallists Czech Republic, hosts Germany and former ice sledge hockey powerhouses Sweden at the Four Nations event in Langenhagen.

Being held at the Eishalle Langenhagen the series aimed to bring together matches that currently take place between countries, but also incorporate new fixtures in order to formalise a competition calendar.

The opening game proved to be the battle of the big guns as Italy ran out 3-1 victors over the Czech Republic.

The two teams are due meet again at the the 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool in Buffalo, scheduled to take place from April 24 until May 2.

The Italians, who lost to Czech Republic in the fifth place playoff at Sochi 2014, added to their opening day victory with a 4-0 beating of Germany.

They complete the hat-trick of wins with a 7-2 thrashing of Sweden, who won the ice sledge hockey title on the sport's debut at the Paralympic Games in 1994.

Czech Republic ended the tournament in second as they recovered from their opening defeat to beat Sweden and Germany in their final two matches.

A two goal turnaround in the opening match proved decisive for Germany as they finished the tournament in third.

The hosts bounced back from 2-0 down to thrash Sweden 5-2 on Friday (October 24), before losing to both Italy and the Czech Republic.
