Spending a second day in the witness box, Roger Dixon was once again forced to defend a number of his findings.

He had told the court Pistorius' girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was standing at an angle to the toilet door at his Pretoria home when the four shots were fired in quick succession.

Dixon also spoke of the injuries she sustained, and whether the difference in noise of gunshots and the cricket bat used by the Paralympic athlete to open the locked toilet door could be distinguished by neighbours.

Today, under cross-examination by prosecutor Gerrie Nel, Dixon appeared to contradict Pistorius' account of where in the toilet the magazine rack was.

The forensics expert admitted he did not measure the angles of any of the four bullet holes in the door left by the 27-year-old athlete's shots.

Nel previously branded Dixon "irresponsible".

Earlier, judge Thokozile Masipa warned people watching proceedings on television in an adjoining "overspill room", saying they "cheer, boo and do what they like".

"It is not an entertainment place,'' she added.

Pistorius denies deliberately shooting dead model and law graduate Steenkmap on February 14 last year, insisting he thought she was an intruder.

The court had now adjourned until May 5.
