Using their Twitter and Facebook social media channels, Tokyo 2020 have highlighted the "courage, determination, inspiration and equality" that set the Paralympics apart.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympics is due to open on August 25 and last until September 6.

Having hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 1964, Tokyo will become the first city to host the Summer Paralympics twice.

Twenty-two sports are due feature at Tokyo 2020.

Taekwondo and badminton are both competing to be included in the programme for the Games.

The International Paralympic Committee will review all 22 Paralympic sports at its Governing Board meeting on October 7, before drawing up a final programme.

Rio de Janeiro will stage the next Paralympic Games from September 7 to 18, 2016.
